Really loved the atmosphere in this book especially more towards the ending where it got really scary. I'm interested to find out what happens with Lucy and her evolving ability. Can't wait to read the next one to see what the group will find themselves into next.

It was a little hard to get into but in the end I enjoyed it. I like middle grade books for the same reason that I like detective TV shows, in the end the bad guy always gets caught; they can be predictable but the are enjoyable. This book is like a mini Sherlock Holmes story but with ghosts. I also really like George and I'm rooting for him in every possible way. Lucy is meh.
Such a fun read! Discovered the series when I saw it on Netflix and decided to read the books before diving into the show. My favorite thing is how ghost hunting has turned into a common business. There are types and classifications of ghosts, different specialized weapons, even competing agencies and businesses. I love a good ghost story and the idea of it being so prominent in society is fun to think about!
The characters were a lot of fun to read with, too. Lucy is my favorite, followed by Lockwood. I even love George’s diligence with research. There were times that it definitely felt like a younger reader series and it slowed down for me just a little bit, but I also didn’t read it as fast as I could have. Very excited to read the rest of the series and hopefully see more built on top of this!

A very enjoyable read, love the world building and characters. I really enjoyed the slow build to the final crescendo. Couldn't put it down in the third act, very tense and well paced. Can't wait to read through the rest of the series

This was so fun! The story is sort of like if a more charismatic Sherlock Holmes had a team of ghost hunters. It's really all my favorite things and now I have to leave with the knowing that my dream job as a ghost investigator only exists in the mind of Jonathan Stroud!
