Another brilliant collection of poems by Ada Limón. She’s easily becoming my favorite poet. I particularly enjoy when she mentions birds and animals. But her mentions of grief have me in tears. I thought this collection was very strong, with more mentions of what the body can/can’t do and how that has impacted her life. Listening to this on audio was wonderful and made me tear up a lot. Will be waiting for a physical copy to annotate and copy down my favorite lines.
From "THE VULTURE & THE BODY":
""What if, instead of carrying
a child, I am supposed to carry grief?"
Some favorite poems are "Against Belonging", "Losing", and "Sparrow, What Did You Say?"

I have 2 more Ada Limón books on deck, and I can't wait to be read to filth by them, as well.

I’ve never felt more connected and seen with another collection of poetry more than this one.
Even though Limón and I lead two different lives , there were poems here where I just had to take a break cause I would just be swept away by how they made me feel, and how it captured so many of my feelings and thoughts that I could myself never describe .
Truly amazing and I will recommend this to everyone I encounter . Even if you usual,t don’t read poetry, I highly recommend checking this out.

this collection and how i feel about it is hard to put my finger on. some of the poems were incredible- i will always come back to them as some of my favorite poems. others didn’t click. however, i get this feeling that one day they will. so, i will definitely revisit this in the future and i’m excited to read more from ada limon!
