Better than I thought it was going to be. I read this in an hour or so as it was part of my hotel's decor. It's simplistic but concise. I think paired with 'Attached' by Amir Levine and Rachel Heller is gives a pretty succint overview of how to approach modern romantic relationships.

“Marry, and you will regret it; don’t marry, you will also regret it; marry or don’t marry, you will regret it either way. Laugh at the world’s foolishness, you will regret it; weep over it, you will regret that too; laugh at the world’s foolishness or weep over it, you will regret both. Believe a woman, you will regret it; believe her not, you will also regret it… Hang yourself, you will regret it; do not hang yourself, and you will regret that too; hang yourself or don’t hang yourself, you’ll regret it either way; whether you hang yourself or do not hang yourself, you will regret both. This, gentlemen, is the essence of all philosophy.”

How to Find Love is a great tool to refocus where your interests lie in the pursuit of relationships, past or present.

This book contains a handy amount of philosophy, neatly paired with common sense, and effectively combats an obsession with romance in a world with such a diversification in choice when it comes to love.

I’ve read it a number of times, before I was in my current relationship, and now while I’m in it, and it still serves as a good opportunity to check in with myself and my romantic agenda. To understand what I want out of a relationship, my choice of a partner, and where my own weaknesses lie.

I felt like it could’ve gone into more depth about our psychological connections to the people we pick, common patterns, maybe even pseudo-attachment style and being ourselves at the espense of the dramatic irony and cynicism, but all round a nice coffee table book.

A lire absolument.

"We are idiots now, we have been idiots in the past, and we will be idiots again in the future - and that is OK."
