The art in this book is actually a step up! Most of the time the characters look their age and there are less extremely cursed panels. Also the color artist is different and it really improves the lightning and overall feel of the art. The graphic novel format still feels a little rushed but overall a big improvement from the last one.

This was definitely and improvement from the first volume! The art style got a bit better (though all the main characters still look like 30 year olds) and it actually hit all the important plot points!

But yet it’s still missing the humor. Dang.

THe sea of monsters being the short book that it is, nothing was left out. The art was wonderful, and it took your imagination to a whole new level.

Massive improvement on the first graphic novel.
Pros:
I feel like the artist switched up his design for Percy, and I’d say it’s an improvement
More coherent than book one. There is actually a sequence of events that don’t feel completely random.
Some stunning choices on where to (ugh I’m not good at artsy words) zoom in? The close ups of Anabeths eyes are was a very cinematic feeling, this made great choices on ?shots? I think is what you would call it
Percy personality while still not fully there is much more present and you can truly see the heart of a great kid
The first one made me frown, this one I could fee myself smiling:)
Cons:
Luke looks older than his father, you’re telling me he’s supposed to be 17? Oddly enough Percy is the only one who passes for a teenager, everyone looks too old.
Plot is fairly messy, if you hadn’t read the book it would be very confusing. Glosses over events very quickly

The art at least got better, however, I wouldn't say that is was always great. At times it just looked really ugly. The story was decent, but I felt like I was missing things, like I have to know all these things beforehand. It was also really rushed. Which is logical, they can't put everything in there (or well they could, if they wanted). I really liked the addition of Tyson in this one, and Annabeth was awesome.
