Well, for sure, The Vampire Chronicles have peaked with Queen of the Damned. This book reads like a fanatic of Lastat after the satisfying climax of the third book. Almost silly, and the prose doesn't quite hit the same highs as previous installments.

one of my favs of Anne Rice. Well worth the read. After this one, I think the novels get too verbose, but this one's still good

On a whole, I find Anne rice’s work boring apart from a few scenes or lines that she writes which I will think about forever. Lestat as a character though has got to be the least interesting to me.

Reads like the worst Anne Rice book, or the best Anne Rice fanfic.

Probably the last one of these books I'll read. The quality of writing has taken quite a nose dive between this book and the one before.

A gripping plot and a feat of imagination as always, but one or two bizarrely inappropriate scenes soured the reading experience for me.

TLDR; This book needed an editor. Shame she fired hers.

I liked this book the best out of the vampire chronicles by Anne Rice. Lestat decided he wants to be human for a bit, but then doesn't like it so goes searching for his body thief so he can be a vampire again.
