A slightly creepy atmosphere, rich people talking highly and an interesting plot. What else can you wish for?

Bela ironia e humor negro.

I read half of this years ago and finally finished it off. It was cheeky and written with a flourish, as all Wilde is. A fun short read!

I came across ‘Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime’ in a collection of short stories by Oscar Wilde. I really enjoyed it and is very easy to read in one sitting. I found it quite entertaining and definitely has an original plot.

Charming, funny, clever, everything you'd expect from a collection of Wilde's short stories. Highly recommended for any fan of Wilde's or of writing from the period. 'The Portrait of W.H.' might present some problems for many people, as the majority of it is essentially a literary argument about the identity of the person to whom Shakespeare wrote his sonnets. It can be a bit tedious, but is an incredibly interesting argument and construction. The beginning and end of the story are both typically Wilde, and the twist at the end is also typical of the other stories in the collection.
