It’s a solid book. The good: I enjoyed learning about a character with ME/CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) and the author also has ME/CFS so she is writing from a place of understanding. I also liked turning Hanukkah into a magical wonderland and giving Hanukkah its time to shine. (The authors note at the end was very insightful about her experience with CFS and her Judaism)
The meh: I didn’t buy into the story on these main characters having met at camp one summer when they were 12 and have been pining over each other ever since - without ever speaking to each other again.
