If a history book and an autobiography had a love child. The wonderful flow between narration and interviews and the way the journey from pre-debut to the present day is woven together is perfect.
The format style might be a little new to some, but you get used to it really quickly. The translators took great care in keeping the colours of the members alive as well.
No matter if you are not a fan, a new ARMY or have been with them from day 1, this book definitely is worth the read!

Look. For those of you expecting an exposé... this ain't Hollywood. And you know what? I'm glad. Beyond the Story stays true to what we've come to expect from BTS after all these years - honestly and lovingly sharing what they can with us, when they can. With the emphasis being on the fact that it's what they CHOOSE to share. (And those expecting a book from Swifty? Soz babe, but this will remain as one of the funniest things.)

The boys talk about the "sweet, bitter, sweet, bitter" cycle of their first 4 albums, and honestly, their whole journey reads with a lot of bitter (which breaks my heart tbh).

I first stumbled across BTS in 2017ish with DNA, but didn't fall down the ARMY rabbit hole until much later (2021). Beyond the Story filled in a lot of gaps for me, confirmed what I'd been thinking about a lot of instances, and gave me a much deeper understanding and love of their music.

These boys (and ARMY) have been through so much, both separately and together, and I'll be forever grateful that they came calling. They've helped me work through some difficult times, made me laugh when I needed to, helped me cry when I thought I no longer could, inspired my work (I legit included BTS as a reference in a work strategy document) and have helped me to keep moving ahead when it felt impossible.

No matter what or how you feel about BTS, give this book a shot. At the very least it'll show you why we rave about their music and work so much, and how hard they've worked (against a LOT of backlash, and, tbh, straight up hate) to create their own success. Borahae.

“While it was difficult to ascertain what made them interested in BTS in the first place, there is one clear theme that echoes through this fandom across the world… by being fans of BTS, they found new directions for their lives.”

I absolutely loved reading this book, and I’m so grateful to have found BTS when I did. They are truly remarkable <3 time to stream magic shop!

Mom, I love them
