This requires quite a few content warnings, so I’ll include them below!

This was an intense read. I had to skim over some parts that were triggering. But other parts really drew me in and I finished it off in 2 sittings 😳

I can’t say that the writing itself was particularly engaging, but the content was fascinating! I can’t believe it’s based on a true story either. 3.5/3.75 out of 5 stars for me, thank you ✨

Shows candidly the microcosm of an institution. It draws you in the experience, with a heartbreaking description of stigmatisation and obstacles people face when dealing with mental illness. Especially in the 60s. Although, I couldn't help but notice the positive outcome that comes from the initial social privileges. I do applaud how the writer addresses these issues.
