Classic. Still very enjoyable, even the second time around. The Shining is next.

reading my first King. oddly disappointing. it goes without saying my expectations were quite high for such a popularised novel in our culture. i really hated the mixed media writing style. it was weird and choppy to me. it read messy and all over the place at times. also like all his descriptions of girls were creepy. the plot is so great, and i love this story. but sadly underwhelmed

Carrie is not a book for me. I do not doubt Stephen King's ability to write strong, kick-ass female characters (I loved Dolores Claiborne) but find Carrie and Margaret White to be quite forgettable and boring characters. The same can be said about the narrative that failed to enthrall me.
To each his own, as they say.
