Everyone in this book was terrible and it somehow wasn't that fun.
Sophie moves back to her hometown and becomes obsessed with sassy gun toting Margot, in a bunny-boiler kind of way. She earns an invite to their Friday night hunting club, where the married ladies all go out and pick up dudes. Sophie, despite being married with a child, is sucked into these girls nights out and keeps missing curfew and blowing off her husband. She then finds out that Margot is having an affair with one of the other women's son! Ick ick ick. She has a brief dalliance with another teen, and I do think pedophilia makes you irredeemable. There is some cat and mouse when the teen boy's girlfriend shows up murdered, with Sophie thinking she's being framed, but ultimately it was the mom of the boy Margot's been sleeping with. Whatever. Messy ladies who did not get their deserved comeupance.

I hate-finished this book. I wanted Sophie to be in any way likable but she wasn't. Perfectly aware that what she is doing is wrong, she still goes ahead and throws away her relationship with a good loving person so that she can have a fling with a teenaged boy and a sociopathic queen bee?

I also can't help but notice that if gender roles were reversed, no one would find this book sexy. Imagine a story where a group of close to 40-year-old wealthy married men lied to and cheated on their wives while preying upon teenaged girls. We would be horrified.

I fully realize that the characters are villains, but viewing it through a lens of sexiness really grossed me out. Sophie's complete inability to make a single logical decision or to have any true concern for how her actions would affect her family was infuriating. She dithered over not wanting Graham to find out what she did and hate her, and therefore lying to the police, while not even considering that the police would absolutely find out that she lied to them, and then she'd have to explain to Graham why she lied to him AND why she lied to the police.

Nothing about this book was enjoyable.

Sophie becomes obsessed with Margo. She stalks on Facebook and does whatever she can to get close to her. She weasels her way into Margo’s friend group, The Hunting Wives, and drama ensues.

The main characters in this book are not likable at all. Sophie’s husband is a good guy, but everyone else is awful and annoying. I literally did not care what happened to anyone.

Also, the mystery part of this book didn’t start until like 2/3 through the book. The whole beginning is just Sophie obsessing over Margo and making stupid, horrible decisions.

I powered through because I heard people say good things and I hate not finishing. The end wasn’t a shock to me but it did raise my rating a bit. Otherwise I’d have rated it even lower.

I honestly feel like my liver needs to be cleansed after reading this book. These women drink A LOT!

After Sophie moves to Texas with her picture perfect husband, she is sooooooooo BORED! In search of a hobby, she quickly becomes obsessed with tracking socialite Margot Banks’s every move on Facebook. After they are personally introduced, Sophie is invited to join Margot’s secret group known as the Hunting Wives. The group gets together to blow off steam through skeet shooting… but that’s not all they “hunt!”

I am continuing to work through my never ending BOTM TBR....

I had high hopes for this book, even though I read questionable reviews. I really wanted to enjoy it but it feel pretty flat for me.

All the characters in this book were awful people. It made them all so unlikable, which is turn had me disliking all of them. All of the women especially in this book are horrible humans. They cheated on their husbands, sexually assaulted children (including their own friend's son), had obsessive/stalker tendencies, and thought themselves above the law. It was gross. For me, I have a hard time enjoying a book when I have such strong dislike for all the characters in it.

The twist at the end was unexpected. I felt like I figured out "who did it" right before it was announced. That is my reason for giving this three stars and not lower. I wouldn't recommend this one. If you have been thinking about reading it, skip it. It is not worth the time, in my opinion.

1 star for it being a fast pasted book, but I wish I would have know about the
predator moms hooking up with teenagers
before hand. I would not recommend.
