Thank you, Jade Daniels, for being the sort of horror-loving, scared yet tough as nails final girl that I can actually see a piece of myself in 🧡

This is a perfect end to a brilliant trilogy, that’s not to say I’m not heartbroken to have to say goodbye to Jade, Letha and all of Proofrock though.

Reading this was like taking a big, deep breath before saying goodbye to life long friends, and my god it was heart wrenching.
The story was excellent, and, as always, told so beautifully, that even when I was reading through tears I didn’t want to reach the end.

I can’t wait to re-read through this series sometime in the future and rediscover the piece of my heart that will forever live on Melanie’s bench overlooking Indian Lake.

I really liked the first one but the second book was a disappointment for me. And unfortunately, this was another let down.  There’s way too much going on and I don’t think half of those loose ends get tied up in the end. I’m pretty sad that this trilogy ends on this note for me but it really was a mess.

tldr; Makes me think we would have been better off with just My Heart Is A Chainsaw as a standalone book.

I understand the desire to make the final chapter in a trilogy, bigger and better with more kills. It works in a movie, but not in a book to be honest. I felt like there were too many subplots in at the end. It felt like chaos. I read an interview with the author, and he admitted that he had no planned for the trilogy going forward and frankly it shows. There is no line that  connects all three plots if you like slasher as a sub genre this might be fun but for me it was just OK.
