This book was somehow more painful to get through than the 2024 election itself. 2 stars because it was not completely unbearable but definitely not enjoyable. I will give Tapper and Thompson credit for exposing how deep the “cover-up” went, but I found a lot of this to be repetitive. Didn’t make me as angry as I thought it would.

I think there are a lot of more-than-fair criticisms about this book and the context in which it was published. However, I also think that it's ultimately an interesting and insightful look behind the curtain at an extremely historically significant moment in politics. It's not providing commentary or a vision for the future, just in-depth reporting, and I think it's broadly successful at that.

Interesting insight and analysis into Baden’s last year in the presidency, his declining health, and the decisions leading to the 2024 election loss.

A masquerade of brave investigative journalism exposing Joe Biden's cognitive decline and its coverup (one year after all of this was most important/relevant), co-written by Jake Tapper, who was one of the most prominent media figures deceiving the public about Biden at the time (which goes totally unmentioned in this book).

Confirmed everything we suspected about the Biden presidency. Jill Biden should be imprisoned for defrauding the American People and elder abuse. Otherwise, good book. Throughly sourced and well written.
