While the book relies on testimony from many unnamed sources, it does thoroughly unpack many of the failures and blunders of the Biden 2024 campaign. Genuinely makes you understand how accurate of a show Veep was.

Chilling account of quite possibly the most damaging events in recent political history. Really sad to listen to tbh.

There wasn’t anything in this book that most people hadn’t already seen (or guessed was happening) over the last 2 ½ years. At a time when the prevailing opinion is that we’ve lost any faith in the integrity of the system, this book just affirms that opinion. It’s a shame that everyone involved in writing this book felt so comfortable sharing their opinions after lying to our faces for months/years and handing the election over to Trump for a second time.

I wasn’t among the voices attacking Jake and Alex for releasing this book. There were many questions that I wanted answers to regarding Joe Biden’s decline, so i decided to read this.

I wasn’t someone who bought into Biden being unable to do the job. I wasn’t excited for his running for re-election, as I had issues with some decisions he’d made, but I was planning to still vote for him despite those misgivings. I primarily attributed his issues to being Joe Biden mixed with age, but nothing serious. Then the debate happened. I didn’t watch it. I’m glad I didn’t. I also wasn’t calling for him to drop out. Who would take his place? I wasn’t bullish on Kamala.

But he dropped out. Kamala took his place and here we are.

I read this book because I’m angry. We’re in the mess we’re in today because of Joe Biden’s ego. We’re here because those around him hid important information from him because, in my opinion, they didn’t want to give up the power that being close to the President brought them. We’re here because the Biden family refused to see what was right in front of them. And we here because the Democratic establishment decided to push him through as the nominee and cover up his decline. They played with fire and we’re being burned.

The Democrats lied to the American people and are currently at their lowest ever approval. Having a book that uncovers and lays out a timeline of the events helps brings it all to light. Something like this cannot ever happen again.

As a book, it was fast paced and laid everything out chronologically which made it easy to follow. As I follow the news rather religiously, I remember many of the moments that are brought up and am seeing them from a different perspective. My biggest issue with the book is how much it relies on unnamed sources that are identified solely by their title. But I do think people should read this as the first written account of this whole fiasco.
