This book was a true master peace I loved it from beginning to end.
And can I just say I’m in love with Thomas Cresswell!
Ugh, I have no words I’m speechless. I loved this book, it was truly amazing. I was so enthralled with the writing I felt like a detective. I seriously could not put this book down. Kerri Maniscalco had me hooked from the first sentence. I love it when books are able to pull you in right off the bat. I wasn’t too shocked by the plot twist because I was able to deduce it in the earlier chapters. But it was still so exciting. I can’t stop thinking about this book and I wish I had the second one already.

Liked the writing
Was annoyed by Audrey sometimes
And **coughing
Thomas ,his way of flirting with Audrey had me questioning S THIS A YA BOOK ??? 😭
LIKE WHY WAS HE SOO EXTRA SOMETIMES
THEY FELT LIKE CHARACTERS WHO ARE IN THEIR TWENTIES INSTEAD
the plot twist WAs not Soo earth shattering
Not gonna continue the series 🗿I had enough

It’s a 2.5. But I can’t bring myself to round all the way up. It’s a blatant Sherlock Holmes fan fiction that doesn’t even change some of the names, and for a outspoken and strong girl she certainly crumbles like a saltine cracker whenever a guy looks at her. I liked Thomas as a character and I enjoyed their banter. I also liked the twist at the end. Her father’s final decision was so out of character from what we knew about him and the medium didn’t seem to really hold a necessary space in the book. I was frustrated because I had such high hopes for this book and it didn’t meet any of them. Also that’s what she calls flirting??
However despite all the issues I had with it, I did like the plot overall and after the first 1/3 of the book I liked the writing and the characters I thought were well developed.
I was planning on reading the rest of the series, but now I’m glad I didn’t buy this or any of the other books. I may give it a second chance at some point but it’s very unlikely.
