Thought provoking/challenging on the laws of ethics and morals. Our main character commits a murder in order to test a theory about remarkable men who are above society and the legal law. He is driven mad and to his limits when he realizes he has messed up and indeed is not different than any other man, or criminal. He is a human being who at first is delusional to think he is better than everyone else and thinks ahead, but in reality lives in a distorafion of his reality that soon is to collapse on him.

The random amateur audiobook I was listening to failed me midway through part 5 and I just couldn’t pretend I gave a fuck after that. I would’ve dnf‘ed if it had been further from the end. Hell, I’ve dnf’ed this book before. Honestly, I just don’t get the hype. Also, this has no business being almost 600 pages long.

This might be my favorite book of all time, it made me so miserable(in a good way!!!), and it well deserves its place as Dostoyevsky's most famous novel. I found the philosophies and internal monologue, and how it influences others/is influenced by others to be one of the most interesting parts of this book.

Damn. Okay so some parts of this were really slow and a bit tedious but the profound themes in this book... the dialogue, its gut-wrenching and elevating. i did really like it, especially toward the end. last 150 pages I'd say were the best. Likely will not read this again but certain parts are literary gold. Also can I just say I love Sonya as a character. Something in her is just so beautiful to me. Excellent book.
