I like the cover of this book. It reminds me of [b:Ready Player One|9969571|Ready Player One (Ready Player One, #1)|Ernest Cline|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1500930947l/9969571._SY75_.jpg|14863741]. The things I like about this book end about there.
I found this book over the top. It was quite preposterous.
It did have some really funny moments, like the constant names of the films were quite inventive. However, I found the book in general not interesting at all.
A major departure from the book that made me really like Palahniuk, [b:Fight Club|36236124|Fight Club|Chuck Palahniuk|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1558216416l/36236124._SY75_.jpg|68729].

chuck palahnuik really understands how to disgust the reader. in every single one of his books that i’ve read, the descriptions he gives of these characters all have little quirks that just get under my fucking skin. who thought you could make the idea of bronzer absolutely revolting. i think if i were to read a bunch of his books in succession i’d want to kill myself, but every once in a while these hit the spot in the most wretched, pessimistic way.
i’m surprised to find that people don’t like this, i thoroughly enjoyed snuff. it’s a little slow, but i absolutely loved the parallels in the characters and all the little intricacies in them. they can be subtle, and i understand how some people can find that cheap, but all the tiny twists and turns in their characters had me absolutely gagging. i think his writing style just really suits me, whether that’s flattering on my end or not. like his descriptions are perfectly horrendous, and the way his stories all build up until the tension is too much so they just collapse on themselves is just… so entertaining. loved this, despite how fucking awful every bit of it is. not awful in a quality sense, it’s just that palahnuik perfectly displays the absolute degeneracy of humanity in a way i didn’t think was possible.

I love Chuck Palahniuk’s books, they’re always weird, usually racy, and always excellent writing... this one did not disappoint!

What the fuck did I read…
I hated it and.. loved it? at the same time.
This is the first and probably last time I read Palahniuk but he knows exactly how to portray a character's chaotic thoughts in this type of environment. The multiple POVs were great, and I was not expecting the twist of the ending. I definitely laughed out loud at moments, but the entire time I was reading I just wanted it to be over.
