Started and finished in a single sitting. Chuck is attempting to say something, but is too focused on the really gross stuff to make it stick. Maybe I do not like chuck palahnuik.
✔️ a book with a one-word title
2 and a half stars.
The first half was incredibly boring. I had a hard time trying to get past that. Just various descriptions and goings-on in that porn studio set with 600 men waiting their turn from four different POVs - Mr. 72, Mr. 137, Mr. 600, and Sheila. I felt claustrophobic for some reason. It was uncomfortable. But ha! Got through that and the second half was much more amusing. And dark. And, of course, gross. I like how I was led to believe one thing but then Chuck pulls a trick up his sleeve and surprises me and all I can say is, "wait, what??" I also enjoyed how three of the four POVs just stopped becoming the numbers assigned to them but real people with stories to tell. They're not necessarily likeable or relatable but they had a reason why they were there, why they wanted to be a part of that porn movie.
The ending was pretty messed-up. I had to read the last two chapters again because I just couldn't fathom what happened. But anyway, I wish I enjoyed this but nope. It definitely belongs at the bottom among the pile of Chuck P. books I've read. Snuff can sit next to Beautiful You, methinks.
(PS I also partly blame me for not enjoying the book as much because I'm not in a reading mood at all and I basically forced myself to finish this tiny book. I'll re-read again when I'm in the mood for booksbooksbooks.)

Disgustingly awesome. This is definitely not the first Chuck Palahniuk book you should read.
