A great twist! I thought I’d guessed it at first, which is exactly what the author wants you to do, and then I was surprised in the best kind of way.
The book was well written and interesting, definitely not a “usual” topic (or at least not in the books I read anyway!)
Gross and disturbing in the way you’d expect, but gets you into the headspace of everyone involved, and I do love a multi-narrated story.
Not rated higher as I did find it somewhat repetitive and in some places draggy, maybe a similar effect could have been achieved with a short story.
Overall interesting and recommended!

WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST READ?
Jesus, this was truly awful... where do I start?
First, the synopsis sounds like it was written by the author. The synopsis alone is absurdly pretentious. I heard synopses are usually not written by the author of books; this author apparently didn't get the memo and it really shows. Maybe, no one else would write him a synopsis for this garbage.
Second, this book was wildly and unnecessarily offensive... YES, I know it is a story about porn that is probably meant to be offensive, but the racial slurs are over the top. Way over the top. All of the characters narrating this story sound the same and they are all equally racist/sexist/ect.
Third, WAS ONE OF THE MEN WAITING IN LINE HER KID? I really cant tell. I mean, the idea that there's some running joke that this porn star has a long lost child and that fact is being discussed in this situation is gross. I know there is a niche incest porn industry, but ew. I STILL DONT KNOW IF THAT WAS ACTUALLY HER KID OR NOT.
Fourth, this book was boring as hell. Yeah, I get it. They are all waiting in line to fuck this porn star so she can make an explosive exit to retirement (or death? really??) - but the plot is non-existent and dull where there is any. The shock factor can't even carry this book. You could tell the author was trying to be shocking and different here but he entirely missed the mark. I am not sure he really knows what or where the mark even is....
I don't have the energy to keep ranting, so I will just say: This book is awful. And the author REALLY thought he did something here. The only thing he successfully did was publish an automatic bargain bin read. If any book stores will even stock it. Don't read this. Spare yourself.

Not since Palahnuik's short "Guts" have I been so uncomfortable, and felt so dirty. This well researched novel takes us into the depths of the porn industry, and well, the kind of men and women who might show up to the ultimate filmed gangbang. Mostly this book made me sad, but I thought that Palahnuik managed to point out some of the problematic issues in such a space, while refraining from overly dramatic prose. If you like this, or are interested in more like this, I would recommend "After Porn Ends", a documentary that is currently on Netflix.
I didn't really like this much at all. Story seemed like an interesting concept but it came across a little too flat and crass for me.
