Y'all. I don't even know what to rate this... I really really enjoyed Seasons of the Storm last year. But this one was... not it. I was not a fan of the fact that we had a POV for the villain - who had like, zero redeeming qualities or character growth. I could hace understood why we had is perspective if there had been SOMETHING that we got from him. But no. It made it so so so hard for me to want to pick up the book. I didn't care about him at all...
Fleur and Jack were fine. Lovey dovey like before. Honestly I wanted way more of Chill, Amber, Julio, Marie. Even Kai. They are all such great characters and they were not given near enough page time. Amber and Julio were integral to making the first book enjoyable, to bringing so much extra to the storyline. I think it was a mistake to leave them out of so much of this book.
Idk this book just fell entirely flat for me and I have no idea what to rate it. I was so excited to read it after loving the first book. Also this feels like it didn't need to be a duology... I understand why it was, but there was a LOT that could have been cut out or dealt with much faster. I feel bad giving this a lower rating but I just didn't enjoy it that much.
I will admit I like how everything played out in the end (even if one of the last lines is TERRIBLY CHEESY and I groaned OUT LOUD reading it). Anyways.
