A quick but surprisingly deep investigation and discussion on asexuality and many of its qualities.

At multiple points throughout the book, aromanticism feels like an afterthought or a side note that almost didn't make it into the text. The authors say somewhere that it was originally pitched to them as a book strictly on asexuality and that makes a lot more sense; they even call it "a book about asexuality" a couple times, which would be all good but then maybe don't call it An Asexual and Aromantic Perspective on whatever? Just don't expect there to be a complex view on aromanticism, it is much more about asexuality.

Reading this was a bit like preaching to the choir at this point, but this book did a fairly good job in a short page count in exploring the varied lived experiences of asexual and aromantic people. Would be a good book for those trying to find their place along that spectrum, and for those trying to better understand the ace/aro people in their lives.

A short and simple book about asexuality and aromanticism that serves as a great starting point for new aces as well as a look deeper for longer serving members of this community. Sarah and Kayla are so charming and genuine that now I have to go listen to every episode of their podcast.

A compact overview of a variety of asexual/aromantic topics. Basic and fairly inclusive, a good guide for sharing with those who might need an introduction.

A decent aspec starter book, although I personally didn't find anything new in it as it is short and fairly surface level. I didn't find myself drawn to underline much, as I have with similar books. I've greatly enjoyed listening to their podcast for the last couple years but it did mean that I had heard some of their anecdotes before and I have found other aspec books so much more thought-provoking and mind-expanding. It's not the fault of SFBO really but that the context of where I'm at.
