I had a bit of a rough start with this series, but I think I'm finally really getting into it. This book was excellent, and made me really excited for the conclusion in the fourth book.
The Gray Wolf Throne managed to take the best parts of the first and second book and mash them together. It had interesting politics like the first but many good character moments and relationships like the second. I found myself really interested in what was happening and barely able to put this book down.
Raisa has officially taken over my heart. I liked her in the first book but she still had some annoying tendencies then that I didn't really like. In this book, she has really grown into her own and is definitely my favorite character of this series.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Han in the first book and only liked him a little more in the second, but now with this third book he has finally grown on me. His relationship with Raisa continues to be surprisingly cute but thankfully the focus on romance seems to have been dialed back a little. Instead the story focuses more on action and feels like a much more political story.
There were a few small things I didn't like, but they were not very important and I can't even really remember what they were. All in all, this series is improving in my eyes with each book.

Much of this book dragged for me because the first part was all traveling and escaping, and then it moved into political maneuvering. Not my favorite stuff but I am well invested into the series at this point that I still enjoyed it and read it quickly.
It was so good. EXCELLENT!!!
Total cliffhanger, I cannot wait for the next one!

This world is so well written. The people and places are diverse, the map is easy to follow, and the politics make sense.
I love almost all of the characters. Raisa is intelligent, fair, and strong - a worthy heir to the throne. Amon and Dancer have great character development and are both very level-headed and likeable.
My only gripe is that I don't like Han all that much. The way Han is written (being one of the two main characters and all) makes me feel as though the reader is supposed to love him and root for him. I find him self-centred and obsessive most of the time. That being said, he does have an interesting storyline and I'll continue to tolerate him because I love the world and other characters so much.
Excited to see what comes next!

As things progress in this series it is fun to watch the characters grow and change. Watching interactions change and relationships muddle is fantastic to follow. The book had strong pacing cover to cover while being hard to put down throughout. There are so many different threats and questions asked that I am excited to see how they will all play out.
