Goodreads insists this is book 1 in the trilogy but its book 2 in my omnibus and I swear I’d read them individually in the omnibus order in the last. I guess we’ll see after I read the next book. I really like Sassinak as a character but the book felt too singly focused on her career and missions for me. I've read too many Star Trek books I guess, which tend to have a more personal or character-driven subplot that just makes the whole story feel richer.

I liked the ist book in this series, but could not get into the following books. Mrs. Moon's writing style changed from her fantasy stuff, and it shows when Anne McCaffery influences.

Really not a very good read - disjointed, and confusing!
