This book is largely set in the palace and has the characters acclimatising to their new roles (king, consort and consort). I think this one is just not as much my vibe. The prequel and first book were delightful but this one just didn’t hit.

There are other books in this world but different leads, undecided if they will make the TBR list

It was a book
I love Katee Robert and her books but these characters just bugged me a lot. Just finished it so I’d have another book done for my reading goal lol

I shelved this book for a long while after being frustrated with the second book in this series. However, the plot in this book was intriguing, and overall I enjoyed reading it. I deducted stars for incessant miscommunication and some grammatical errors and typos. Not my favorite Katee Robert book but fun nonetheless.

So much angst!! If you like a good throuple and a little royalty/bodyguard/commoner romance than I recommend these for sure
