{My thoughts} – Instead of an old lady swallowing everything in this book it’s a pirate. A nice change of events. These books seem to get more silly each time a new one is released.

The words within the pages match the illustrations nicely. Each book although silly can also be used as a teaching tool for the children reading it or being read too. It has activities and more information at the end of the book.

I recommend this book for any child that enjoys this series and is interested in reading more of the silly stories.

{My thoughts} – There was an old lady who swallowed a cake. I don’t know why she swallowed the cake. It was a mistake!

The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Birthday Cake is a new spin on a classic birthday celebration.

The illustrations within the pages of the book go hand and hand with the text. I have always enjoyed how much repetition takes place within these particular books. They make incredible beginner readers for children. As a mom that loves to read to her children, and hopes to turn them in to readers, these books are fantastic!

In this particular book the old lady swallows everything that is needed for a birthday party. Once it gets to the end, they have a birthday party set up.

I recommend this book as a beginner reader. I also think that it would make a great story to read at a child’s birthday party as a time filler for little children. It can also make a great gift as well. This book has the potential to become so much more and be used for so much more! This series is incredible!

{My thoughts} – This book is a lot fun. I happen to enjoy all the books that are similar to this by Lucille Colandro. She has a nice interesting imagination when it comes to the many different things the Old Lady is able to swallow and why she swallows so many things.

I read through this book with my two year old and she kept pointing at objects on the pages. It’s her way of saying tell me what this and that is. She always has a smile on her face when she is being read to. She also seems to have an interest in these particular books.

I really liked how this particular book was put together. It’s not only a silly rhyme but it also helps to teach children about space. I like how in the back of the book there is more information for the child as they get older if they have more of in interest in it’s subject matter. This was a fun book to read and I look forward to reading more books in the series in the future.

A great play on the traditional story! Great to read the last week of school before summer vacation.

Gross. I don’t know if all the books in this series end with barfing, but I could do without it. Mini-Me thought it was great, though, so an extra star for her.

My daughter learned, “The Old Lady who Swallowed a Frog” at school, so naturally, we had to check out all of the different versions we could find at the library. This is the Halloween themed one. My daughter really enjoyed it.

These are fun, silly stories that are great for kids to get involved with, too!

This one is silly, just like the rest, and my daughter loves them. I might have to add these to our personal collection now.

My daughter loves the old lady books, and this one was no exception! This one was cute, and a little more informative that some of the other ones! I really enjoyed this one!
