Even though I really liked that the love journey between Jude and Asa was mostly smooth-sailing in the original book (especially since that highlighted the mature and loving relationship between the witty spitfire and the gentle giant), I do have to admit that I truly enjoyed getting some angst and drama with this short story!

I am a big sucker for jealousy scenes and even more for scenes where the love interest feels like he fucked up and starts having this inner monologue about how he is desperately afraid to loose that one person who means the most to him! We definitely get these scenes here in abundance.

I have to say, though, that Asa was uncharacteristically dumb and unable to read the room in this story, which I found a bit odd. I just can’t imagine the real him ever shoving aside Jude’s concerns like that or him not understanding that what he was doing with Hayden was wrong until it was pointed out to him. Thus, I do have to take this story with a bit of a pinch of salt.
Regardless, I really did enjoy it a lot. I liked seeing both men jealous, and I especially enjoyed seeing Asa be a little insecure about losing Jude, and have him spiral about how that would literally devastate him.

Also, if anyone wants to see more of Malachi, they need to read Spring Strings, because that’s his book and it's honestly amazing.

Unfortenately, I can't sleep tonight. It's already 2.19am. But this short story has kept me company for the last half hour, calming me down and making me smile. I'am glad I can always turn to literature for confort. Jude and Asa are wonderful, I'm happy to have read this.

Enjoyed this one a lot. Asa's co-star was an asshole and deserved to be punched and I wish Asa had done that instead of just shoving him and telling him off. UGH.

But I enjoyed seeing these two again, even for a short time, because I love them together. Awesome follow-up with some fun jealousy from both and them reiterating how much they love each other and want only each other.

Worth the read if you loved their book <3

Oh, jealousy! What a miserable thing you are!

I love this short, I love how the situation was presented, so no matter how much trust Jude have for Asa, is easy to understand his doubts and his hurt. Asa did a great job of fucking-up Jude's visit, but, as I said, I can understand why he acted as he did.

Hayden is the kind of person that I never could understand, mean and delusional. But then, it was perfect for his role in this story.

A wonderful short.

I nearly choked while reading this because Lily Morton is the absolute Queen of British snark and Malachi was her muse in this short snippet which falls between the final chapter of Deal Maker and its epilogue.

Asa is filming in Ireland, so Jude decides to visit, encounters a co-star trying to steal his man and then has his own bizarre run in with his superstar model ex outside a Dublin pub.

I cracked up laughing at the jealousy and side eye both men were putting out and I'm glad Asa's dick of a friend got his just deserts. I'd love to have a Malachi story though, he was hilarious.
