This book made me explore more books by Japanese authors, the simplicity with which its written is great. The girl who is devastated by her relationship, and her boring life finds a new place to live at her uncle's library which she not willingly went as she left her job. Initially she hates the place, but when she starts to explore the books, her uncle's life she really connects with them, and after that book becomes interesting to read. The writer is successful in establishing a nice chemistry between all the characters. Its definitely a one time read.

I bought this book during my trip to West Borneo and just like the story and the other books I read during my trips, a book has always been a solid escape for me however enjoyable or exhausting the trips were.
When everything seems wrong, Takako takes a chance to hide from her problems inside his uncle’s second-hand bookshop. Even the thought of living among books and the musty smells kinda makes me envious. I don’t need her problems to live among books, give me a bookstore and I’ll be golden. I never knew a story about ordinary girl can be as interesting as this book.
If you love books and sometimes imagine what it’s like to live among books, this book is for you!

This was the first feel-good that I picked up on purpose, and at the very first line itself I slapped my forehead, because there was something I could completely relate to. The book revolves around an old and rustic bookstore which is crammed with floor to ceiling books (Dream place I know). The scenes and the visuals written in the books are not that detailed but they were quite intriguing. The uncle and niece bond was presented beautifully and the way her uncle and aunt care for her since childhood really had my heart.
The character building was kinda normal not that good but not completely bad either. There were a few past incident that made the characters who they were, but most of the story ran in present.
The psychological and relationship aspects the book touches are really deep and it also presents solutions to them as well along the lines as well. Topics such as self reflection, accountability, acceptance, and taking hard decisions were covered well as well as talking to get to clarity in relationships and giving second chances.
Overall this book was a really good “Feel good” book, made me reflect on many of the aspects as well and how to stop and just have a look around in this fast moving life
