This was the right mix of comedy and horror. It was scary but the author managed to still lighten the mood with humour.

First off, the story is amazing! So, if you are looking for reviews to know that, go ahead and read the book!
Spoilers!

Now, as for the review, Nick is the brother that helps Tim in fighting with every situation that Tim brought upon himself.
Nick was giving major Young Sheldon vibes!
Also, he solved the case and get Tim out of the island, alive, so he is the detective here.
The story depicted humor and suspense in a good way so 2 stars for that.
You can figure out who might've done that and that the killer was exactly who they thought he was, but given that the book comes under children's category, that's not an issue.
As for the other characters, they did a pretty job getting turned on each other and dying.

Overall, the novella manages to depict the situation in detail with a splash of humor and mystery.

At first, the narrative was a bit slow and I felt that it wasn't as fast paced as I would have liked. But as the narrative progressed, I felt that it became fast paced. The build up of the story where we meet the other people on the school reunion and when most of them died in weird circumstances (that I didn't know anyone could die in) was a great build up over a short 81 pages and like I said it became more fast paced at the point we met the other people at the school reunion.
Anyway, I enjoyed this book and the person who killed everyone was not someone I expected until his name was mentioned.

A funny little novella that still manages to have an interesting mystery.

It was so loooong since I've read a Diamond brother book! And well it is still cool! I really love Nick, even dumb and naive Tim. Both of them are working well together I think A.H. nailed a good recipe for Sherlock Holm-esk mysteries with fun comic relief!

Read this cause I was bored and it was there. Funny but in a juvenile way.
