Sighs...
Like many others, I was beyond excited to finally read this next part of the series. My excitement was short-lived.
The usual suspects are back for part 5. We pick up right where we left off, and we literally go NOWHERE in part 5.
Cult followers will enjoy this book, no doubt, but those of us with objective brains will find this book to be repetitive, juvenile, tragic/trauma porn. I'm tired.
The twins (and Aria) saved this book for me, but I couldn't even have that! Ugh. In my Cardi B voice, "What was the reason?!?!" It's like she said, let's add more and more drama, even if it doesn't add substance to the story. The Mo and Mo scene is another example of this.
I will not go too far into this book, as there are other reviews of such. I have to add, Morgan seriously needs to grow up. Focus on her education and her children. Period. If she's not crying, then she's fighting or doing the other f-, y'all know what I mean. How many more books of this do we need?!
There will be a part 6. Hopefully, the next installment will have GROWTH and maturity.

This was probably like a 3.5 for me. I spent most of the time feeling annoyed/frustrated which is fine because Ashley wants us to feel SOMETHING. I feel like we spent a lot of time with Ethic and Lani’s situation. Why can’t he have his happily ever after?! Let’s leave them two alone
adventurous
fast-paced
This book… idek how I feel.
I was under the impression this was the closure book we were all waiting for after the lonnnnnggg MTAF, Ethics, & then Butterfly series.
I love Ethic, Morgan needs therapy, Messiah is “growing up” at a snails pace, & Ahmeek is the real star of this series.
In the middle when Ethic & Alani didn’t seem to be having their happy ending, so was so devastated… I actually sobbed for him. He didn’t deserve that. All for it to be “starting over”. Booooo
Then ending this book on a cliff hanger & saying “IDK when I’m going to finish, maybe 2 months maybe 2 years… just preorder”. Ashley. Cmon now. We just an ending. Whether it’s happy or not but this cliffhanger was unnecessary.
Close the series girl and let it be done.

Whew what can I say. Where do I start? Ashley antoinette has done it again. I felt every single emotion on these pages. I’ve cried, put the book down and picked it right back up. Spoiler- I really wanted Ari and Isa to stay together but I do feel that they will find their way back. I really want to know the real real why bash and his mother came into mo’s life. I’m so excited that their will be a book six.
My favorite on so far. I love how many characters from other books were woven into the story.
Good As Always……..
I always enjoy Ashley Antoinette’s books. But this one was overly hyped up and I expected more. Can’t wait for part 6. I’m hoping there will be a lot of growth and maturity for all the characters.

The only reason I gave this book 3 stars is because it didn’t feel like a Butterfly book it felt like Ethic 7 and I feel like we only got a glimpse into some movement the life of Morgan, Messiah, and Meek.

I'm a fan and will continue to be a fan even after waiting for what was to be the final installment of this series. It gave very much a bait and switch sales tactics. We were sold a dream as fans all to have to wait on the final installment for god knows how long.
As it relates to the book itself I didn't care for how Butterfly 5 turned out to be more about Ethic and Alani. They've had an entire serious dedicated towards their story. We seen very little of Meek and Morgan here in this installment, and I felt as though they deserved more than a couple of chapters near the end. I may need to sit with Morgan & Messiah story line here to truly express the level of gaslighting and his inabilities to grant Morgan the right to make her own choice by providing her with the context that's been due to her for sometime now. It's called respect and it seems as though he has zero for her. Will I purchase Butterfly 6? Yes, am I happy about it no, but I've come to far in this series to turn back now. I'm committed to seeing how Morgan's story ends.

I am waitingggggg for B6!
The way y’all describe these books (especially in the FB group) & the things that happen… blow me a little bit. The way yall described Messiah “licking the ice cream from KD’s face” was extreme. The way y’all described Messiah “checking” Mo about KD was more than extreme. None of that played out the way that y’all said & tbh— i’m happy lol.
There’s so many points in this story that had me in shambles & I can’t wait to see how they play out in B6 because Ashley, let’s wrap this up! Morgan is going through A LOT & my girl needs a win! She needs a happy endinggggg
