Masterpiece of NOTHINGNESS! I should’ve followed my first mind and waited until it was available on kindle unlimited or the library. Ashley is true to it, dragging out a storyline to sell another book. No closure and Morgan’s immaturity makes for a frustrating read.

This was so annoyingly repetitive. I am pissed that there is another book to come. A lot of the issues and arguments keep popping up again and again.
I’m glad this series (+Ethic) kept me company the last couple of weeks but they are so overwritten and under-edited.

Please understand that I’m a huge fan of Ashley. But that does not negate the fact that I’m a reader who expects better. B5 seems to have an unfortunate case of deja vu throughout the book. Although the premise had potential, the incessant repetition severely hampers the overall reading experience. From the very start, it becomes evident that the story's progression is marred by excessive reiterations, making it a frustrating endeavor for me to want to finish. Meaning…too much FLUFF. It really got to a point where I stopped highlighting and taking notes.
Multiple times we revisit Mo and Messiah which dragged too much. And the story line had soooo much more potential. With Alani and Ethic..at that point I wanted to throw the book, because again WHY? Instead of moving the plot forward, the constant revisiting of the same ideas becomes an obstacle to true engagement.
Moreover, the introduction of new characters feels forced and, unfortunately, unnecessary. While these characters may have had the potential to add depth to the story story line, they end up being a mere “WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE AT THIS POINT”.
Despite these shortcomings, B5 had a select few redeeming qualities which warrants the 3 stars . I have grown to love these characters to the fullest and want to see how this series ends but this drag is making it hard to stick with it.

Ashley surely knows how to tug at your heartstrings & keep you wanting more. I’m upset at my man Ahmeek. Bc he know what time it is which Livi & the fact that he even believes her a little bit about this being her baby. Someone is behind her playing get back I think. All in all, great book, as per usual.
It took me a while to finally open this book when it was first released. After reading, I have mixed feelings. Nothing was resolved in the story. Ethic and Alani can’t seem to catch a break. As soon as it seems like they have battled it all, devastation strikes again. I’m ready for them to have a happy ending. Bella’s heart is still on her sleeve about Henny and Easy is struggling to adjust. The Okafor household is in shambles.
Morgan and Messiah are still fighting to co-exists. Although it seems they can be great co-parents, the untold truths between them have created a wall that doesn’t look like it will come down anytime soon. Messiah’s relationship with Messari and Yara is beautiful. He can be the father that he needed. However, Messiah is still treating Morgan like she is his procession and not a person with full control over her life. His meetings with Khadeen seem helpful in some ways, but the lines in that relationship don’t seem straight anymore either. I feel like him and Bleu’s relationship could have been resolved, but it won’t really be until Messiah tells Morgan about MJ (which I was hoping would have happened in this book).
That scene at the end between Morgan and Bleu was completely justified and long overdue.
Morgan needs therapy and healing. She’s an awesome mother, but she’s also still a broken little girl who hasn’t sought through her own mommy and daddy issues. I would love to see Morgan get the therapy she needs and is able to learn to be alone for a while. When Meek asked her who she was without a nigga telling her who he needed her to be, that spoke volumes. Her identity hasn’t been discovered. Her name has always meant something else. Benny and Justine’s daughter. Raven’s sister. Ethic’s daughter. Lucas’s victim. Messiah’s girl. Bash’s fiancé. Ahmeek’s girl. She’s never just been Morgan so its hard for her to stand on the decisions she wants and needs to make. Now with the new issues at hand, I don’t know is she will find herself in book six either.
Ahmeek Harris was the bright side to the confusion in this book. He made the struggle worth fighting through. That Miami scene….whew! as much as I love the ideal of Meek and Morgan, and as much as Morgan needs the love he gives, she isn’t ready for it. I appreciate that he loves her enough to recognize the depths of her trauma and encourage her to find healing.
I’m hoping book six won’t be pages of how each character feels and actually has more character development. I’m interested to see how things play out for Pastor Ny and Aria and Issa.

I CANNOT stand Morgan. She is the most selfish creature. From the time she was 6 years old, she has been able to act up and get a pass. How entitles can a person be. I will not spoil this plot twist but I hope she finally gets a case of act right with the news she was delivered. I want to slap Ethic, Meek, and Messiah for the unreal way they all cater to her. They assisted in allowing her to tantrum and act foolish. She’s mad at them but doing the same thing! Lord be with this child and her children. Them babies of hers need so much. But can she give it to them?
Ashley Antoinette has masterfully gotten readers sucked into this series that is never ending because she really does nothing in most of the book and gets you caught up in the last few minutes. At this point, no one deserves anyone. They all walk away from each other!
