There aren’t any trigger warnings for domestic abuse or miscarriage/ stillbirth in the beginning of the book, so be aware. For such an intense topic, it’s just carelessly tossed in to add depth to the main female character. It makes being a survivor seem like her character flaw and that she’s at fault for worrying about possible abuse from the main character. It’s understandable trauma and yet it’s treated as if it’s “not all men” and she’s in the wrong for being concerned??? I thought the overall storyline was okay, and the smut was good but when you finish the book, you realize that the domestic abuse was just a careless plot device and character flaw- it feels gross. Either treat surviving abuse with more respect or don’t include it at all.

A main character is a domestic abuse survivor, and at one point treats a patient who is in an actively abusive relationship with depictions of domestic violence injuries.

The main female character moved states to get away from her imprisoned abusive ex, who abused her when she did not terminate a pregnancy. He pushed her down the stairs and she lost the pregnancy but had to deliver the stillbirth. The domestic abuse patient almost dies twice, but does end up surviving

The book does not treat either domestic abuse or miscarriages very respectfully and could be distressing to those who have experienced either.
