This book was amazing and so thrilling! Never read a book like it. I remember the day I got the first book of the series. So, glad I bought it! The whole series kept me until the very end! It's definitely a page turner! I can honestly say this is the best book series I have ever read in my life, and I've read many books in the course of my life. Everyone should totally check this series out! You will not be disappointed!!

One of the things that I so dearly loved about the Burn for Burn series, is the way that Han and Vivian created such relatable, realistic characters that you cannot help but love—even if they are portrayed as the ‘villain’ of the book. For example, I had an intense dislike of Rennie, and the second book only intensified that emotion. In Ashes to Ashes, I really felt like Vivian and Han struggled to make those characters that I’ve come to love so dearly in the first two books shine.

Let me put it into context for you all: I really loved the Burn for Burn series, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a copy of this book. If this book had turned out differently—especially the end—this series would have gone down as one of my all time favourite series ever.

One of my issues with this book is the fact that it took so long to reveal Mary’s true identity. Mary wasn’t one of my favourite girls in the series, and this book just really hit it home for me. My main problem was her obsession with Reeve, and then finally discovering her true identity it made sense. Despite this fact, I just felt like the authors kept dragging the Reeve connection on and on and on. Also, it probably annoyed me a bit more than anything else, because I really enjoyed Lillia/Reeve.

That is another thing that bugged me. Lillia and Reeve’s relationship wasn’t really a relationship, and then Mary cut it short. I felt like they were still getting into it and then it just stopped, and the angst from this kept going and going. I was also really frustrated because from the impression I got from the previous book, I thought they were going to give Kat/Alex a shot. That was a major let down for me. They had really good chemistry in the first two books, I really thought it was going to happen.

Most of all, I was super upset with the ending. I would have been okay without the epilogue, but it had the freaking epilogue! I would definitely love to burn the epilogue, page for page. What really made the second book for me was Lillia and Reeve’s romance, and to have it end the way it did was just extremely upsetting.

Despite all of this, though, I enjoyed the book. What little I had of Reeve and Lillia’s romance I enjoyed. Not only that, but this book did answer a lot of questions, especially surrounding Mary. Surprisingly, I enjoyed most—if not all—of Mary’s parts. The only thing I had an issue with was how they got rid of her in the end. Throughout the book, they were building her up as someone super angry with an agenda for revenge. For her to go out the way she did felt out of character for me.

All in all, if you read the first two books, you might as well read this to find out what happens.

A solid ending to a solid series. It was clear that the plot was thought out from the very beginning and it made the transitions very smooth.

This series was marketed SO poorly which is not the book’s fault but this last book turned batsh*t and not in a fun way. Again all these relationships felt very shallow and the reader gets told they have such depth and meaning but it’s never earned. It’s so bizarre because I like both these authors a lot but this series wasn’t good.

When I started Burn for Burn, this is not where I saw this trilogy going… but honestly, I’m not mad at it
