This took me quite a while to get through which is one reason the rating is lower. I did love Louisa and I admired her courage and will to learn in order to help Will Traynor. On one hand I hoped for the happy amazing ending most Romance readers expect, but on the other hand, regardless of how other people felt and lived with quadriplegia, I knew Will wasn’t one of those people. He’s not weak, or unwilling by any means, but it’s every individuals choice, and I completely understood his POV and his reasoning and his choice. I was often frustrated at Louisa and Will’s parents, but I also understand how it must’ve felt to know your loved one, your child, wants to die. It’s heartbreaking from every single persons POV and understandable from each.

Don't think of me too often. I don't want to think of you getting all maudlin. Just live well.

Just live.

I loved the story and the character development, but I feel that the blatant ableism and harmful mindsets portrayed in this book dampened a story that could've and should've been much more emotional and impactful than it was.

I’m rereading all the books I own, and this one made me cry all over again. It’s honestly weirdly entertaining to see the tear stains in your book and then immediately add to them. I will say that this story feels ingrained with ableism, but I do acknowledge that that does fade a bit within our main character as she learns more. And I do understand why someone who was SUDDENLY disabled would feel this way. Still bits of it felt off. Random and specific, but I did notice and really appreciate that Moyes used the word Inuit instead of the slur. I did enjoy this book very, very deeply, despite all the pain; I just find it important to note the things that didn’t sit exactly right.

This book will make you cry

The dynamic between Will and Lou is this book's greatest aspect. The way this book captivates their differences and similarities is just chef's kiss, also the character developments!!!
