I decided to read this book after watching the film a couple of years ago. It has absolutely torn me into pieces and I think it will always leave a scar on my heart.

I hated Lou’s family, especially at the beginning where she was made to feel bad for not wanting to work in certain places etc. However, Treena managed to redeem herself at the end and the others weren’t too involved.

I now need to buy the second and third on payday!

not sure how or why this has so much widespread praise when its just the manifestation of the author's ableist thoughts. this could have been a decent tragic love story if there wasn't so much pity and hatred for people in wheelchairs as subverse

Without a doubt the most heart-wrenching book I have ever read, I already knew the ending as I watched the movie first but the book added so much more depth to the characters, allowing for them and their choices to be better understood.

I loved this book so much that I couldn’t stop reading. The characters are beautifully written.
