I really liked this book. It's different from what I'd usually read, but it was worth it. It really made me reflect on my opinions on assited suicide, but I believe I can now better understand why people would choose to go that way.

A couple of things that bothered me:
- How often it was mentioned that Lou was either drinking or making tea. I mean, okay, it's set in the UK, what was I expecting, but it became really irritating after a while.
- Will never talked about his scars. Of course, it could be that he didn't want to, but I felt like that was somehow missing. We never really got an insight from Will if the scars still reminded him of his attempt, or if he had really moved on.

Really enjoyed this, slogged a little towards the end.

i like that will stook to his guns honestly.  but throwing in lou’s mom basically calling her a murderer at the end felt unnecessary to me? thought i guess still realistic.

overall, a really enjoyable and compelling love story.

ps. in terms of a “diverse cast of characters” i initially said no because they’re all white, but the focus of the book is on a quadripagelic so: it’s complicated

Picked this up because I watched the movie and absolutely love it. Moyes does a fantastic job creating characters that you immediately route for, flaws and all.
Having watched the movie, I knew the tragedy that was waiting for me at the end of the book but somehow I was so swept up in the story, I found myself holding out hope that this would be a happy ending.
I loved Moyes's almost comical writing style and immediately reached for book 2. Spoiler alert: this is a trilogy!
