Pip Drysdale delivers another gripping thriller that explores themes of trust, betrayal, and revenge. The story follows Billie, a sharp journalist, as she navigates the dangerous web spun by Jack, a man with a shadowy past. The narrative is fast-paced, filled with twists and turns that keep you hooked until the very end.

Drysdale’s writing is both engaging and suspenseful, making it difficult to put the book down. Billie’s character is well-developed—flawed yet resilient, her determination to uncover the truth feels raw and real. The novel cleverly explores the darker sides of relationships and the impact of manipulation and lies, all while maintaining an air of mystery that keeps readers guessing.

While the plot is captivating, some readers might find the ending predictable or feel that certain elements of the story stretch believability. However, the sharp dialogue, strong characterisation, and emotional intensity make up for these minor flaws.

Overall, The Next Girl is a compelling read for fans of psychological thrillers and domestic suspense. Pip Drysdale’s knack for combining mystery with deeply personal stakes ensures this book will linger in your mind long after the final page.

I can’t get over how good this book is. I am a big fan of a well written revenge book and this one hit the spot.

Billie is a temp working in New York City where she loses a big case. She knows the perp is guilty, but how can she prove it and get him convicted? If she doesn’t stop him, there will just be more victims. So what does she do? She becomes the “Next Girl”.

Billie is a bad ass sluth setting up her victims to walk into her traps. I was so impressed with all the cell phone tracking and swapping she did! That takes some background knowledge. I really enjoyed how Pip wrote her character to be imperfect and understand that she was still trying to do the right thing even if she had messed up in the past! A bingeable read!

I could not put this down. It’s been a while since I had a book that I was excited to get back to reading because I had to know how it ended.

Thank you Netgalley, Simon & Schuster & Pip Drysdale for the ARC of this book.

This was one cracking book! It was gripping, suspenseful and twisty.

The chapters were short and easy to read, the way the story was told from one POV almost like a diary telling was really entertaining and overall I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Cannot wait to read more Pip Drysdale in the future
