Ok, so maybe Lincoln is a tad bit stalkerish. Maybe? But also, I could totally see myself doing what he did in his place. So, maybe that makes me a stalker? Whatever. All I know is that I loved this book. I love Rainbow Rowell. I want this to be a movie.
He falls in love with her even before the love at first sight. He falls in love with her letters, the way she writes, the way she is so normal and weird at the same time! I love Beth and Lincoln, Jennifer and Mitch and everybody! Also, I want a Lincoln or a Mitch in my life!!
Cheesy story ending but I swear Rainbow Rowell does voodoo spell on every one of her stories and they come out being so adorable that you just cannot stop loving them!
Would have given it 5 stars but I didn't get the movie references made in the book (there were so many and I hadn't watched half of them!)
So 4 STARS!! yayyy!!!

I loved this book because it was written differently to any other book I have read recently. Being written in third person at times caught me, as I’m always reading first person novels. I think my favorite part is that it was about romance without the gory and sordid, monotonous sexual detail. In fact, we didn’t even get a kissing scene until the final 30 pages. For a book to have enough detail and substance to hold my attention based on the plot for so long without the protagonists forming a couple was impressive. Not to mention, the humour was right up my alley. A pleasure to read, and cheers to many more, Rainbow Rowell!

Like… maybe more of a 2.5? There were just so many problematic elements to the book and comments (ableist/plain rude/etc) that didn’t age well. I wanted to love it, and skeleton wise it was fine, but too many problems :/

I feel like this was a warm hug from the 90s. I previously picked it up and couldn’t get past the first few pages, but now I’ve finished it, I’m glad I gave it another chance. Don’t get me wrong, I think parts of it should have stayed in the 90s, but the quintessential Rom com vibes are sprinkled throughout this novel. I loved the format (if you liked Love,Rosie you’d like this), and i actually thought the simultaneous timelines worked to its advantage.
Overall I enjoyed it and I think it helped that it seemed to be exactly what I was in the mood for.
Also, can we appreciate how Lincoln speaks - it’s beautiful.
