I honestly don't even know where to start with this one. This is my least favourite Sophie Lark book. She tries to kill him, then like 2 days later he forgives her and they are in love. Their entire relationship goes from I'm going to kill you to let's f*** to I love you in a matter of days. Makes zero sense.
At the start, Sloan was made out to be this badass assassin. She could have been such an interesting character, instead the men are just "too strong" for her to take on and she just submits to Ivan. This whole book makes zero sense.
Tropes: mafia, enemies to lovers, instalove
Graphic: Misogyny, Gun violence, Murder, Sexism, Death, Sexual content, and Toxic relationship

I've never wished a book had been longer so much in my life. Honestly, I could've easily read another 100-200 pages worth of these two.
There's just something about two alpha type characters ending up together with the tension and the fight for control that I just lap up every single time...

I wouldn't call this a dark romance, which is what I prefer. This book is set in a dark world but the story is very light hearted. I think that's why I was so confused at the beginning because I was expecting a dark romance not a rom-com type story.
There was so much happening so quickly, it was hard to keep up but I kinda liked that.
The characters are super loveable and they all make a cute improv family. I like the idea of this series, it's a long series but each book has a different plot which I think I'm going to really enjoy.
It was an interesting story and a nice change from what I normally read.
