Classics really aren't my thing but I tried my best- it just- wasn't it to be honest
Okay, not my favourite. Found the author voice amusing at early points but the story was black and the characters almost universally hate able.

“He's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.”
I hath finished this book. Let me tell you a story. This all started on Saturday (three days ago). Imagine little Whitney just hanging out with her friends and dear sister lizzie at a nice day at Lagoon WHEN she gets a text. A text that will change her life for the nest three days. It is a poll of when to meet for the Hutchings Bookclub. The original meeting was supposed to be tomorrow BUT NOOO. The option was between today and next tuesday. Of course, me, not very far in the book, wanted next thursday. But.........unfortunately today won by one vote. SOOOO little Whitney has dedicated her past three days reading this book (but is was mostly Sunday and today). WHITNEY HAS BEEN DEDICATED.
Anyways, I had no idea what this book was about, but I thought it was a love story. But it wasn't...SO I was a little shooketh when Heathcliff was a freaking JERK. my HEAVENS. Anyways, there really isn't THAT much to this review but I did (im pretty sure) fall asleep for the last chapter, but I did read the spark notes...so I have a pretty good gist on what happened.
That's another thing. I have absolutely no idea what was happening in this book until chapter 16. when ON SATURDAY waiting in the line for a ride, I had lovely Lizzie give me a summary. SO I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD WHAT WAS GOING ON! But I still did end up having to spark note every chapter.
BUT there was an actual story, so that was nice because I felt like I could be invested in most of the characters and I also think that books like these (classics) have no story (just like A Tale of Two Cities) but it didm so I'm glad about that!
Well, the bookclub meeting is tonight, so we shall see how it goes because my dad loves this book and my uncles HATE this book soooo IT SHALL BE Interesting! I'll maybe let you know how it goes!
good night and good luck
