These volumes always take a bit to get back into because it's a somewhat complex story, and there's a bit of a delay between trade releases. That being said, this team's blend of apocalyptic sci-fi and classic epic fantasy continues to deliver. It's a full genre-fest in a lot of ways, but underlying the bold premise are some interesting character dynamics and a solid plot that keep things moving forward. The creative team blends well between writing and visuals (including a distinct final issue in this volume), and I continue to be entertained by what they've crafted here and intrigued to see where it goes next.

Still cool concepts, but in bad need of further character development.
