The central theme/message? Overconfidence can be your downfall. (A decent enough lesson for some kids, depending on their disposition.)

This one offered a good bit of backstory on Wonder Woman, though it came in the form of a mid-battle unconscious flashback into Diana's youth. There was really no keeping the middle from sagging at that point. For my kids, that meant putting the book down a little past halfway and me having to convince them to finish out the story.

Also a bit disappointing that at one point the book refers to a grouping of deer as a "flock."
