This one didn't hit quite as hard as the first book. The journey to China felt both too long and not long enough, with some parts feeling very slow. Once they get to China the pace picks up, but it seemed like the problem was solved a bit too easily. I will be continuing the series, but I'm hoping we get less about the philosophy of raising dragons in the next one.

Temeraire #2

Went a bit better than book 1 for me. The characters started to be more interesting, but the pacing was still as slow for me. Though more happened, it still felt like a lot of a "building" book for the series.

Went into too much politics for me, unfortunately. More dragonfighting, less politics is what I prefer, unfortunately!
