I felt like Connelly was phoning it in on this one.
Hard to get into at first, but then got super interesting and kept me interested the rest of the book.

While Jack Mac is not my favorite Michael Connelly character, I still have to give this book a favorable review. If you enjoy Connelly's writing then you should enjoy this story. If you haven't read any, start with the Bosch stories first.
I quite liked the book, although the ending was somewhat weak. The buildup in this book was good, although some parts were choppy. Basically the book is about how a reporter who has been given his 2 weeks notice and is working on his last assignment and training a new reporter. Together they accidnetally stumble upon a killer and then the new reporter is murdered. One things leads to another and the killer is finally tracked.
A good read overall, but certain parts (i.e. like the character of the killer) could be better developed.

Jack McEvoy is good in this book, but it seems strange that it takes place about 12 years after The Poet.
Blah. This book was just like the other ones I read by Connelly. The narrator thinks the murderer is one character, but TWIST ENDING it's someone else. Wasn't surprised at all and actually ended up skipping quite a few pages because the in-depth descriptions of unimportant things bored me.
