This was a little slow for me but the ending is a cliffhanger and enough to make me want to read the second book.

Not going to lie I struggled with this book.  The general fae story line was amazing and if it was that alone I’m sure I’d probably continue the series.

Unfortunately it contains very consistent weird sexual content with a male MC calling the female one little one which didn’t sit right with me.
Additionally it deals with grooming, suicide, murder and SA.

Overall I was left disturbed especially by the graphic sex because of the phrasing and the uncomfortable nickname used.  I wouldn’t reccomend personally.
And I’m not against spice in books.  But this was just horrid to read

Also. Despite this book seemingly being set in an old dystopia landscape it kept bringing up modern clothing like leggings.  Which just seemed so seperate and disconnected from what I understood to be the setting

I had the highest hopes for this book. And honestly I made it through most of the book enjoying it. But once the two mains really started to explore their relationship it went down hill so fast. I don’t mind possessive men but Caelum was just toxic in a bad way. And Estrella hates the idea of any man thinking she’s anything beyond a plaything but she has no personality beyond that. She holds Caelum to such a high standard of morals but will turn around and do the exact thing she condemns him for just to be with him. I honestly just wanted it to end by the time I hit 75%. And the “twist” wasn’t so shocking.

Overhyped. The writing team promised a sexy fae romance and there was none? There is no plot and no character growth. The only reason I kept reading it was because the spicy scenes were very well done. I won’t be picking up the sequel.

dubious consent; possessive romantic partners; sexual harassment; public intercourse in front of large group, including sexual harasser (and main character does not seem sure they want to partake in it)
