By chapter 5 I was really exhausted by the repetition of: biting inside of her cheek, desperate to feel free, how dirty and worn thin her clothes are, the bruises and pain inflicted upon her by her abusers. Chapter. FIVE. It was intense. I felt like by then the plot should be moving forward but it just keep repeating the SAME PHRASES and SAME CIRCUMSTANCES to make you feel pity for the MC. By chapter five I wanted her to die to just end the novel.

Basically, the stupid fmc ends up with a toxic mmc.

A few things I didn’t like about the book were: (1)It was very obvious that Caelum was a Fae and Estrella’s mate when he was first introduced to the readers, (2) I hate how Caelum kept calling Estrella “Little One” and kept mentioning how much he wanted to have sex with her, (3) the plot twist was very obvious, and (4) I wish Melian wasn’t killed she had so much potential; given that she actually used her brain unlike Estrella.

This was a rough read. I’m like so disappointed in the FMC cause why did she leave an abusive rapist man for a “new life” when she got a dad mark to then let another man do the same thing. The random possessiveness thing wasn’t cute and Caellum was not a loveable character. If anything he was worse than what the first guy did. Just didn’t make sense and the FMC was annoying and spineless

An entertaining read, but everyone is problematic and the love interest is a giant red flag.

Honestly this book started out good, but went downhill very fast. The character development was nonexistent and the mmc made me somewhat annoyed/uncomfortable. Him referencing the fmc as “little one” even in a sexual way and always forcefully telling her every 2 seconds how much he wanted to have sex was tiring. The amount of times he mentioned his c@ck was insane. I love spice, but this was rough, as in not good. Thankfully I got it for my free trial on audible so I didn’t pay anything for it lol

The storyline is intriuging; I genuinely wanted to know what would happen next, however: I think the amount of sex and the emphasis on the lust of the population in general made what was a really solid opportunity for killer world building fall flat. It was a bit disappointing.

A very slow beginning and pretty much clueless main character. We don't meet the love interest until Chapter 12, and even then it’s YA awkward. I am not a fan of the “little one” nickname for potential lovers. Unfortunately, this book is always on the edge of being good with plot points and characters.

I have to say... I wasn't expecting much from this book when I first initially started it but by the end I was engrossed and fully decided that I needed the rest of the series.

It first started our along similar lines as A Court of Thorns and Roses but as it progressed it strayed into its own plot line.

Estrella has a hard life but quickly learns that she won't let a man rule her life anymore. I admire this in her as she has the strength to stand up to her abuser first and then later against her brother.

Caelum is stunning. I love Caelum. From the beginning he always showed that he was racy, sassy and protective of her but he was sweet, understanding and fully appreciative of her. Ha ha... I was so naive......

Read it and when you get to the end and the plot twist kicks your ass as well, come talk to me.
