This graphic memoir will be great for fans of Raina Telgemeir's "Sisters". About an older sister who struggles to be compassionate toward her younger brother and often falls short, eventually seeing herself as just "bad". I think children will really relate to Charise's struggles. I was a little frustrated with how the parents dealt with Charise. It seemed like they were more focused on shaming her, rather than helping her change her behavior. Charise also references having face blindness at one point and then it's never addressed again.

I felt a bit frustrated by this book, because I wanted to know more behind what happened. I have read several posts with Harper to gain more background information. I did not find it "witty" as described in some reviews. I wonder what her father thinks of his portrayal (if he is still alive).

This was a tough read. I had a frustrating relationship with my brother as a child, and while I don’t think I was a bad sister, the emotions and power dynamics in this book rang true.

An amazing book in my opinion the parent expect too much from the big sister.
