Valynda is more than a little cursed. A spell went haywire and she ended up trapped in a doll! Now resurrected, thanks in no small part to Thorn, she is ready to face the rest of her demons.

The Malachai are still causing havoc with their attempts at world domination. Val and crew of the Deadmen have made an oath to keep the monster locked away and they will die (again in some cases!) to honour that oath.

Val does waver more than bit. You never know if she wants her true love from one money to the next! I got whiplash moe than once! However, the banter is great between all the characters. As a bit of a history nut, the setting was so atmospheric and really fit the tempo of the story.

It's the first book I read by ms Kenyon and the first book I read in this series.
After reading it now I have an entire series to read because I really enjoyed this book.
Ms Kenyon can surely write a book that will keep you hooked till the last page.
I appreciated the world building, the great and well written cast of characters and the humour.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Edelweiss for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

No. Just no. This trilogy has been a constant headache for me. I really wanted to like it, but I couldn't care less for the characters or the story. This book got so bad at times that I was literally rolling my eyes while reading and had people asking me if I was ok. That was the extent of my exhasperation. The only redeeming quality I can find to it is how it ties (more or less) the story to back to New Orleans, but in general, I don't think this book was well written or plotted. Which would make sense taking into account the author's personal problems in the past few years. But still, it hurts that the last books from her have been so disappointing. Hopefully, she'll get her stuff sorted and we'll get awesome books.

.As I've been doing with the previous books, I'm giving it one extra star because of Acheron. That's it.

So I didn’t really remember Valynda being in the first two books but okay, I could get past that lol

Sherrilyn can write a really good second chance romance!

And with that epilogue, I feel like this series is coming to a close. We’re in the endgame now.
