I wanted to learn about labor rights and unions and policies. It was just a series of events and stories about some unions but no message or lessons. I cannot speak more intelligently on labor rights after reading over 100 pages of this book book.

Just listen to the Adam Ruin’s Everything podcast with the author. Saves 13 hours. Good ideas though.

A really good book about the labor movement in the US. I learned a lot and got angry a lot while reading it.

I have never heard a cogent explanation for organized labor or labor in general. I feel like this book laid out a lot of different opportunities for improvement on both the labor and management side of the equation.

This book is brilliantly written. Clear, concise, emotional. A mix of history, politics, and personal stories of American workers. So easy to read. Greenhouse hits it out of the park.
