I started reading this book a couple of times prior to last week but would always put it down. I'm not sure why this time I kept reading but I did and am so happy that I was able to experience this story.
I have heard the name of this book since I was young. Finally, I got the chance to give a try. I was stunned by the concept and how the writer planned to execute the plot. The narration itself was clever and well build.
Though, most the reviews are positive and seems 'Perfect' for the book, I feel it lack few things during the execution the plot. Maybe I might have expected a lot from the book. Still for anyone who is planning to go for this book, its definitely a yes. The climax was bit of a emotion rollar coster ride. And watch the movie, after you are done with this masterpiece.

Después de seis años de estar en mi librero, al fin terminé de leerlo. Es maravilloso e inspirador, a pesar del tema triste qué trata, por qué sí, las historias de la 2da G. M. siempre son tristes. No obstante, la narración la convierte en una linda historia que se aprecia mucho considerando quien es el narrador. Y sin spoiler alguno, que quede claro que Rudy es el niño más lindo que he leído hasta ahora, lo amo por siempre.
i went into this book very blindly and only knowing that it was a classic, and i honestly understand why the book is a classic. it is a very touching story and shows the reality of germany both before as well as during the second world war.
it is not a story for the feight hearted, it is a sad story but one that is also filled with moments of hope and joy.

Ok I’m gonna be honest, I didnt like this book the first 300 pages because i felt like there was no plot. But once I got more into the book i started enjoying it more and it even made me cry the last 50 pages especially when Rudy and Liesels foster parents died. Would I recommend this book to friends? probably, i rate it a 4.32/5
