Great story. And definitely a unique perspective. Hard to read at times because of the sad subject matters, but I appreciated Zusak's poetic writing style, finding those precious strands of beauty woven in moments weaved into such tragedy.

J'abandonne à mi-chemin. Ce livre est chiant comme la mort.

4.25 stars.

Beautifully written. Manages to stand out among the countless WWII books. The characters are fully-realized, the plot engaging, and Death as the narrator was unique without being hokey. Definitely recommend.

This book was written absolutely beautifully.
The narrator being who they were was an interesting perspective and gave extra emotion to the parts that needed it/benefitted from it the most.
If you can, have someone read it to you because that somehow makes it even more touching, heart-wrenching, and emotional. (Found this out on accident when I was hospitalized and couldn't read it for myself but wanted to keep doing so)
